BlinkliQ ("we", "our", or "us") operates the BlinkliQ mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the App.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information to provide our marketplace services:
- Account Information: Email address, phone number, and profile details.
- Location Data: Your device location to show nearby sellers and items on the map. If you are a seller and enable Moving Mode while Live, we also collect your location in the background to update your position on the map for nearby buyers. Background tracking runs only while Live + Moving Mode is enabled and stops when you go offline.
- Photos: Images you upload for item listings. The first photo of each listing must be captured using your device camera at the time of creation for fraud prevention. Remaining photos may come from your gallery.
- Usage Data: How you interact with the app (via Firebase Analytics).
- Device Information: Device type, OS version, and unique identifiers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve our marketplace services
- Connect buyers and sellers in your area
- Send notifications about pings, messages, and updates
- Analyze app usage to improve user experience
- Ensure platform safety and prevent fraud
- Comply with legal obligations
Admin Chat Access
Our trust & safety team may review messages when investigating reports or violations of our Terms of Service. Chat access is logged and auditable.
AI & Automated Moderation
We may use automated systems to assist in content moderation. You may request human review of any automated decision that affects your account.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, cloud storage, cloud functions, analytics, crash reporting (Crashlytics), push notifications (Cloud Messaging), remote configuration, and App Check (device attestation).
- Google Maps: Location services and map display.
These services have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:
- With other users: Your public profile, listings, and location (when selling).
- With service providers: Firebase, Google Maps, and the store you purchased from for payment processing (as necessary for services).
- When required by law: To comply with legal obligations.
5. Data Security
We take security seriously:
- All data transmission is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS)
- Firebase provides enterprise-grade security
- We implement Firestore security rules
- Regular security audits and updates
6. Payments
All in-app purchases are processed through the store you purchased from. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data as follows:
- Account data: Retained while your account is active.
- Messages and conversations: Retained for 180 days from the last message. Inactive conversations are automatically deleted.
- Pings: Expired, completed, or cancelled pings are deleted after 30 days.
- Promotions: Expired or cancelled promotions are deleted after 90 days.
- Background location data: We store your current live location to show buyers your position while you are Live and in Moving Mode. We do not maintain a long-term location history. Your live location is removed when you go offline and automatically after inactivity.
- Purchase records: Retained for accounting and support purposes.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings within the app. When you delete your account, your data is deleted within 30 days (often sooner). Some records may be retained longer if required by law. Deleting your account does not cancel active subscriptions — you must cancel separately in your device subscription settings.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request data deletion (in app settings or by contacting us)
- Opt-out of analytics (in app settings)
- Update your profile information
- Delete your account
Administrative access to your data is logged. You may request an audit of who accessed your information.
9. Children's Privacy
BlinkliQ is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
